# killApp

> Force-stop the app under test.

Force-stops the app under test. Takes no options, so it is usually written as a
bare command.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type      | Required | Description                                                 |
| --------- | --------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| `saveAs`  | `string`  | No       | Variable to store this step's return value on `env.<name>`. |
| `retries` | `number`  | No       | Times to retry the step on failure before failing the test. |
| `skipped` | `boolean` | No       | Skip this step at execution time.                           |

## Shorthand

A bare command with no options.

```yaml theme={null}
- killApp
```

## Examples

```yaml theme={null}
- killApp:
    comment: restart cleanly before the next scenario
```
