> ## Agent Instructions
> The canonical docs host is https://momentic.ai/docs. Append .md to any page URL for clean Markdown. Fetch https://momentic.ai/docs/llms.txt for the page index and https://momentic.ai/docs/llms-full.txt for every page in one file.
> For an unattended setup, run `npx --yes @momentic/wizard@latest -y --platform web --editor-tools skills` (use `--platform ios` or `--platform android` for mobile). Never run an interactive command in a non-TTY shell.
> Mo is the AI QA engineer, a separate product from the YAML test framework: its npm package and CLI are `qa` (not `mo` — `npx mo` is a different project). Install with `npm install -g qa`, authenticate the same MOMENTIC_API_KEY way, install repo skills with `qa skills -y`, and start a session with `qa start "<brief>"` or `qa <url>`. Docs: https://momentic.ai/docs/mo.md.
> You cannot complete the browser sign-in yourself. Read the API key from the exact MOMENTIC_API_KEY environment variable (similarly named vars like BILT_MOMENTIC_API_KEY are ignored), or ask the user to create one at https://app.momentic.ai/settings/api-keys and paste it back.
> Momentic's capability summary for agents is at https://momentic.ai/docs/skill.md. Install the skills with `npx momentic skills --yes` (or `npx momentic-mobile skills --yes` for mobile).
> Tests are YAML files in the user's repository. Use only the step names listed at https://momentic.ai/docs/reference/commands.md and the file structure at https://momentic.ai/docs/core-concepts/file-format.md. Do not invent step names, config keys, or CLI flags.
> Web tests run on Chromium, iOS tests on simulators, and Android tests on emulators. Physical devices are not supported.

# Welcome to Momentic

> Test a running app with Mo or run repository tests locally and in CI.

Use Momentic to test web, iOS, and Android apps. [Mo](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo.md) explores a running
app from a brief and reports findings with evidence. For repeatable regression
checks, keep [YAML tests](https://momentic.ai/docs/core-concepts/file-format.md) in your repository and run
them locally or in CI.

## Test a running app with Mo

Give Mo a URL or an uploaded mobile build, the behavior to check, and any
required test accounts. You can test a preview deployment, a release candidate,
or a local web app through a [tunnel](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/tunneling.md) without writing test files.

The [session report](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/reports.md) records test cases, verdicts, coverage gaps,
and findings with reproduction steps. A separate agent attempts to reproduce
functional bugs; static findings, such as a typo, use a screenshot.

>
> Select a target, write a brief, and review the report.

> [card] [Use Mo from a coding agent](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/cli.md)
>
> Start sessions with the qa CLI, answer questions, and export findings.

See [when to use Mo](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/why-mo.md) for how sessions fit alongside coding agents
and repository tests.

## Run your first test

Momentic tests mix
[preset steps, AI actions, and modules](https://momentic.ai/docs/get-started/how-momentic-works.md) in YAML
files you can review in Git. Use them to check the same behavior on each pull
request or release.

Run the wizard and choose web, iOS, or Android. It signs you in through the
browser, installs the matching CLI, writes `momentic.config.yaml` and a sample
test, and runs the sample. It also offers to set up your coding agent:

```bash theme={null}
npx @momentic/wizard@latest
```

After the sample passes, use the [web](https://momentic.ai/docs/quickstart/web.md#test-your-app),
[iOS](https://momentic.ai/docs/quickstart/ios.md#build-your-app), or
[Android](https://momentic.ai/docs/quickstart/android.md#build-your-app) quickstart to run one test against
your own app and check its result.

To use a coding agent instead, paste the
[web setup prompt](https://momentic.ai/docs/quickstart/web.md#setup-with-coding-agent) into Claude Code,
Cursor, Codex, Copilot, or any other agent. The agent runs the wizard with an
API key and writes your first test. The mobile quickstarts include setup prompts
for iOS and Android.

## Add regression coverage

* Run repository tests as
  [GitHub Actions checks](https://momentic.ai/docs/running-tests/ci/github-actions.md) or use a
  [CI recipe](https://momentic.ai/docs/guides.md) for preview deployments, nightly suites, or other setups.
* Use [AI test maintenance](https://momentic.ai/docs/reliability/auto-maintenance.md) to diagnose failures
  and review proposed repairs when the UI changes.
* Turn a case from a Mo report into a repository test after you
  [fix the bug](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/triage.md#what-to-do-with-an-accepted-bug).

## For AI agents

* [llms.txt](https://momentic.ai/docs/llms.txt): an index of every page.
  [llms-full.txt](https://momentic.ai/docs/llms-full.txt): every page in one
  file. Append `.md` to any page URL for clean Markdown.
* [skill.md](https://momentic.ai/docs/skill.md): the capability summary for
  agents.
* `npx momentic skills --yes`: install the Momentic skills into your repository
  (`npx momentic-mobile skills --yes` for mobile).
* `qa skills --yes`: install the [Mo skill](https://momentic.ai/docs/coding-agents/skills.md#mo) after
  [installing the qa CLI](https://momentic.ai/docs/mo/cli.md#install). Coding agents use it to start,
  follow, and recheck Mo sessions.
* [MCP server](https://momentic.ai/docs/coding-agents/mcp-server.md): a local stdio server that gives a
  coding agent a live browser or device plus tools to author, run, and triage
  tests.
