Testing sucks. No matter how you're doing it. Whether it's spending hours before each release manually clicking through a web app or fixing flaky browser automation scripts blocking your PR, it's not something anyone enjoys. Engineers just want to ship.

Today, we're incredibly proud to share that Momentic is helping hundreds of companies ship high-quality software, from startups to public enterprises. We've raised $3.7 million in funding led by FundersClub (FCVC) to further our mission of making testing an easy part of the SDLC.

Quality shouldn't be hard

We started Momentic because testing is hard. We've seen teams spend over half of their cycle fixing outdated Playwright scripts or wasting hours of valuable engineering time on manual QA.

Almost every tool on the market works for simple user flows, but as applications change and evolve, those solutions fail to adapt and become a nightmare of flaky scripts and false negatives that engineers now have to triage. Flaky tests decrease trust, add friction, and further delay the product cycle.

Momentic enables teams to ship high-quality product without the overhead of testing.

Momentic uses your app just like an end-user

Momentic uses your application through a web browser. We capture screenshots, view accessibility data, read network logs, and ingest console logs. We trained a series of models to understand all this information, allowing our users to turn natural language instructions into browser interactions.

ai action

This approach is orders of magnitude faster and more resilient than traditional test automation, with teams reporting over a 70% decrease in time to automate and 99% decrease in test flakiness. Most importantly, we're making software testing a black-box, so our customers can focus on testing real user flows instead of worrying about internals like data-testid and XPath.

Millions of steps executed a day

Momentic is go-to choice for some of the world's best product teams. This includes startups like GPTZero, which migrated from Cypress when they needed to improve coverage of their dynamic and rapidly evolving product. This also includes Retool, Runway, Podium, Chegg, Quora, and a hyper-growth unicorn productivity software startup. Today, we're executing millions of browser interactions and catching thousands of bugs before they reach production.

Backed by world-class investors

We're fortunate to work with incredible investors. This round was led by FundersClub (FCVC), with participation from Y Combinator, General Catalyst, AIGrant, and Karman Ventures, alongside amazing angels like Aaron Levie (Box), Kulveer Taggar (Zeus), JJ Fliegelman (WayUp), Richard Aberman (WePay), and more.

This funding will help us expand our product surface area. Momentic started with web end-to-end testing and we have a giant roadmap ahead to become the one-stop shop for quality.

If you're interested in changing the paradigm of software development and testing, join us. We're hiring for full-stack and frontend engineers.
