Introducing Mobile

When we set out to build Momentic, we wanted web E2E testing that was easy to author and maintain. Since then, top engineering teams use Momentic to raise their quality bar. We run hundreds of millions of interactions every month across thousands of screens.

But web is only half the story.

Why we built it

Mobile teams feel the same pain, often worse:

  • Supporting both iOS and Android meant maintaining duplicate sets of resource IDs and accessibility IDs
  • UI changes would frequently break tests because IDs got out of date
  • Emulators are resource intensive and take a long time to start
  • WebView heavy apps would require constant context switching between native and browser contexts
  • Flakiness due to keyboard not closing, timing issues, drag-and-drop, network variability, the list goes on and on

This is why we’re introducing Mobile, bringing the natural language tests that our customers know and love, to iOS and Android apps.

With Mobile, you can write the same natural language tests and run them on high-speed emulators for iOS and Android, commit them to your repo, and execute them anywhere you want.

Technical highlights

We spent a lot of time on working on this. Here are bits that we’re particularly proud of:

  1. 1s emulator cold starts
  2. 1s app installs
  3. 200ms cached interactions
  4. Seamless context switching between native and WebViews (think auto-iframe)
  5. No instrumentation needed
  6. Embedded interactive preview
  7. 1-click APK upload

We’re engineers building for engineers, we have zero tolerance for sluggish tests. Your feedback loop needs to be instant.

Building the AI-native testing platform

The world is larger than just the web. With this new product, Momentic expands from pages to apps.

Author once in natural language and run across iOS, Android, and web. Instant feedback, stable tests, quality that you can trust.

Getting started

Mobile can be used on its own or alongside the rest of the Momentic platform. You can take advantage of Quarantine, Copilot, Failure recovery, and our extensive infrastructure that hundreds of world-class teams depend on.
